PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH

Physical, social, emotional and mental health need to be in sync for well being. Physical health can affect emotional health and vice versa.
Physical health not only takes into consideration absence of disease but steps to achieve this. Physical health assessments can be done through a general assessment (height, weight), and prevention tests for identification of disease before symptoms set in.

PERCEPTION OF STRESS

Stress is the body's reaction to any change that requires an adjustment or response. Stress generally refers to two things: the psychological perception of pressure and the body's response to it - which involves multiple systems, from metabolism to muscles to memory- and generally takes some time for the body to calm down after the stress response has been triggered.
Perceived stress is the feelings or thoughts that an individual has about how much stress they are under at a given point in time or over a given time period. Medicine is recommended based on the individual perception of stress. Prolonged exposure to the stressor with no changes being made to their environment may result in suppression of the immune system and may cause lower levels of health and well being.

BEHAVIORAL THOUGHT PROCESSES

Thoughts, feelings and behaviors influence the well being of a persons growth. How we think, feel and act all interact together. Thoughts influence and determine ones feelings and behavior.
Perceptions and spontaneous thoughts influence emotions and several behavioral physiological reactions. Distortions in thinking exaggerate the emotional significance of common, everyday events.

Well Being

Well being is a work in progress. A balance of physical health and emotional health, diet and exercise, immunity enhancement and positive perception of stress .

IMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT

The human immune system can be weakened by poor diet, alcohol, smoking, processed foods, foods and drinks high in sugar and refined carbohydrate soda. Micronutrient deficiencies (eg vitamin A, B6, C, folic acid) may alter the immune responses. For immunity enhancement food is very important.
Citric fruits, almonds, green vegetables, ginger, garlic, seeds, turmeric are some immunity boosters. Another factor affecting the immune system is age. As we age, immune reabsorption capability becomes reduced.

PREVENTINE MEDICINE

Preventive medicine is the roadmap to enhancing one’s immune system and building the body up to avert and avoid diseases. Preventive medicine allows a person to identify a disease with a genetic predisposition and work towards averting it through various different tools.

Homeopathy works towards engendering effective homeostasis responses. To do so the responses must be individualized and must be chosen according to their similarity to the set of characteristic symptoms in patients. In this manner, aiming at decreasing individual susceptibility to disease, will allow homeopathic medicines to have a healing and preventive effect on many human illnesses.

DIET AND EXERCISE

Like preventive medicine, diet is another form of prevention where eating and keeping healthy is a good way to build a body's immunity. Diet is essential for the sustenance and growth of the body. It protects one against many chronic noncommunicable diseases, such as heart disease, diabetes and cancer. Diet varies from disease to disease and it is crucial to stay healthy and maintain the mandated and correct diets in order to ensure maximum protection from diseases.
Children with a poor diet run the risk of growth and development issues and poor academic performance. Furthermore, the formation of bad eating habits can persist for the rest of their lives. The maintenance of a healthy diet is vital for people of all ages.
